Honestly though, that’s pretty much everyone under 50 these days. Kids might have their ear buds in, but phones have vacuumed out all the socializatio...
Maybe my world is different, but I see more people over 50 glued to their phones are in conversations about what they just saw on their phone (news) than I see people in their 20s and early 30s. People my age seem to be dropping it a little more lately which I've been quite happy of. Saving pictures instead of posting them, having chats in public. Idk i've been somewhat optimistic about this lately. Except I think they're still damaged from it. So they're not staring at devices, but they still probably aren't having conversation. And to be fair, before judging, who really enjoyed small talk 12 years ago (or whenever this ad was made) anyway. Lets not act like small talk with strangers moved the needle. 99% of social engagement with strangers doesn't yield anything more than a hello. We can still smile and say hi, but we don't need to talk about the weather we're both experiencing, or what happened at last nights game. They were people you were never going to see again. I can be quite chatty so this isn't me but I can understand why. IMO, younger gens want more meaningful interactions and don't see the value (that was never there) in one-off waiting room chats.
You go to a bar, restaurant (not fast food), get on the water (beach, boat, docks), whatever "social" type of location, 20-30 y/os people aren't glued to their phones, their laughing and moving around. Maybe taking more photos or videos than they once were.
As usual I think these are the extremes, touching grass has me thinking otherwise.
