What is the socially acceptable number of times to jump start a mower instead of replacing the dead battery? Asking for a friend.

Till buying that extra battery wont be a burden I guess... cuz this is not a laziness thing. To unplug terminals and to unscrew the battery cage of the other machine you are taking it from then jump start then back... its a dirty not a fast job too... soooo ... yeah no one will judge ...
