By the way, something nobody talks about is that my Knots node with datacarrier=0 has around 3,000 pending transactions, compared to more than 100k on Core.
My Knots node uses less memory, less CPU, and less disk I/O than my Core node.
Managing 100k pending transactions makes a huge difference for low-powered nodes—it’s the difference between having the fan running all the time or staying silent.
Even though I don’t agree with the activation of BIP-110, a pre-RDTS Knots node is the only decent alternative; Core is an absolute spammer’s piece of crap.
Congratulations, Core guys, for ruining Bitcoin’s main client. I’m not going to put up with spammers’ garbage in my mempool.
I just hope that after the failed activation of BIP-110, Knots continues to be developed.
