What am I missing with grafana? I get so confused when I dig into it. I try to keep my stack clean and retard proof. Containers everywhere, the more self contained the better. I found OpenObserve (which I really like now) while failing to get a basic grafana setup going. I just want a ui to ingest my metrics and logs. I use vector as my processing pipeline but the sink for grafana confused me even more.

I would love both! I always decline notifications permissions (so I have 10000000 unread ones). I just don't want relays or other users to be able to see my signed activity on an app. And yes, it's very annoying. Not that I enjoy using primal, but they regressed to a permissions loop like every 2-5 seconds, so I sign in, then unload my signer from the page so I can see things without being blasted with popups. Your jumble isn't bad, but I'm pretty used to constant prompts for AUTH and whatnot anyway so I don't notice it

This is also a take I've been considering. In terms of the masses, or marginal user, not so much that they've given up, but have been conditioned to be consumers only. They won't get the rush here from interacting with others. In my physical circles, that's what's happening. Our social interaction is irl, and online is just a place for consuming and entertainment. No different than Gen-x and boomers watching the tube. They just don't have the desired or energy to interace or post, it's fulfilling or functional. For producers, they need low cost access to consumers, since competition in normie influencer space is highly contentious, the lowest, short-term cost sot eyeballs is important, otherwise they just won't make content. Same reason most youtubers of the 2010s left. They did it for the love of the game, and when their consumers were captured they walked away,

Happy to help :D Im not familiar enough with caddy to know that configuration, but sounds like a weird issue to come across. H2 is supposed to set a host header on start of stream, and I have no idea what H3 requires. I just remember reading that H3 uses the same stream protocol, therefore the same H2 header requirements.

Just poking fun, don't worry about it, there's nothing really to do. SNI (server name indication) basically just sends a little plain text domain name as part of the tls handshake and kind of a failure by IEEE in my opinion. It rides an ambiguous line of, it's basically never encrypted (my experiments revealed this), can be mutated by a MITM if server's trust it to select virtual host which was sort of my plan for an accelerator idea. So you're not really supposed to use it server side at L4, because it could be encrypted, and if it's not then it could be mutated, or the client may choose not to send it, because it doesn't need to. I think it's required with H2 and H3 but I can't remember. Encryption was only added as an option with tls v1.3 which literally like last year I could say I see more than 75% of the time. It took fucking ages for clients to full switch to tls 1.3. Probably because not everyone sees it as a major improvement dunno. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Server_Name_Indication

Got my 3rd or 4th "we've been breached" letter in the mail this week. They got everything, SSNs, dobs, addresses, DLN, account numbers, transaction histories, credit card numbers, you name it. It's shame none of these were "optional" or frivolous things, financial, health, the state, insurance etc.

Now that the week is over I can say for certain, bot traffic has dramatically reduced this week compared to last week.

I still use it when I have to (areas without cell service), but for me the experience has been much worse in the past year to so. Maybe I should try removing it again and reinstalling it. How are you able to select alternate routes? That's a big deal for me. I need to be able to select a specific rout without having to trace the whole damn route out. I also find it's really sticky to that route. If I miss a turn it would rather have me go 20 miles out of the way to get back on the route, rather than route from the next exit for example or take back roads.

That number is really broad. Reading that you'd assume that's people eligible to work, but are choosing not to. That number has to include all ineligible people too. Agreed on avoiding google play services (iirc it's a semi-anon system?) I would say though, OSMAnd is terrible for me on an older device. Search basically doesn't work at all, I usually attempt to scroll the map till I find a place I recognze then drop a pin if I have to use it. Locks up often, navigation info disappears often, no alternate route user selection, an bad recalculation if at all when you miss an exit ramp. There are billion settings, so Id imagine some of these issues are fixable, but out of the box it's a terrible experience in comparison. The best option for local navigation i've used is HEREWeGo. It's online only, and also has issues with recalculations if you find yourself in rural areas often like me. Way better on battery though, navigation is first class, and search works similar to old GoogleMaps. You can actually search places like food and see open hours etc. Organic maps is fine for trails and stuff, but driving navigation is also nearly useless for similar reasons to OSMAnd.

If you have nothing to take, then you're fine. Getting into the weeds on what you _should_ do is not really a topic for a nostr thread. I just think you can get miles ahead if you apply my silly metaphor habitually. But don't assume it's safe to put on your network, if you have other things on your network. Remember everything you're doing is being leaked in plain english to your inference provider as well. Did some napkin math last night. You can pretty much buy the exact GPU you rent from a provider in about a year at current prices, including 24/7 electric. That's nuts to me. To your point https://git.vaughnnugent.com/cgit/vnuge/plugins-essentials.git/tree/lib/vnlib.browser/src/default/session/index.ts#n289 Usually I would gate this functionality behind a branch to avoid reassigning a variable. It's very rare for me to use a mutable variable except in a very controlled scope. In some parts of this library I've wrapped with getters and setters.

It also give me a little more ownership or control over my phone number. If it's a DID owned by my account on my SIP provider, I can provision that number to any device I want with my pbx, I don't need permission from my mobile carrier to which device/sim it belongs to. I can move carriers without worrying about transferring my number.

True, but it allows for an immutable pattern in an designed mutable language (which is an argument against const existing at all). const does prevent assignment, just not mutation of the object. Same could be said for C (also my favorite language). Const just changes the compiler enforced memory location protection. I'm trying to make sense of this argument though. I suppose, coming from strongly typed/functional languages into JS, I developed my own idiomatic patterns to sidestep the designed mutability of the language. I would also agree in theory that const as a concept in JS shouldn't exist if it was true to the way it's taught.

Don't think it's any better in terms of privacy, but it's a lot cheaper (or was, haven't looked into mobile plans in a long time), and it would condition me into not using it or relying on it often such that I could turn it all off and use it only when I need it out and about. I'm not away enough or need critical alerts to need a beeper for example, so Id just leave it all at home I guess XD Shame they don't really make actually dump flip phones anymore. PBX is a Private Branch Exchange (iirc). Just a server that routes a SIP trunk line(s) (voip) to individual devices like ATA's (desk phone) or mobile/desktop SIP apps for example. It can do smart things like voicemail, automated messaging, menus, transcribing, and a ton of other fun nerdy things.
