It’s a bit of a workaround but yes. I only mention Z-cash because it currently has the best implementation, it’s through a tool called Flexa which uses collateralized transactions on the backend. You send Z-cash to Flexa which is protected by AMP that AMP is then converted to fiat, and sent to the company. On the frontend it’s scanned as a “Gift Card” in the system. But it’s almost seamless, the main issue is sometimes at certain stores you have to type the price of the transaction but on newer flexacodes, you just scan the code, and it’s automatically deducted. Unfortunately, as far as I’m aware no Bitcoin wallet has implemented it yet.

I am glad that Bitcoin adoption is increasing but in my personal opinion the ideal world is where businesses have tools to accept currencies like Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, Ethereum, Z-cash, and Monero as well. When you go to the store it’s not Mastercard, or Visa only, it’s usually Mastercard, Visa, Discover, & Amex* (*I don’t know what Amex adoption looks like but if I recall most credit card processors accept most if not all of the major credit card brands nowadays, I know it was issue in the past) That being said anywhere that Bitcoin can be spent, theoretically Monero can also be spent too with swaps, etc.

I was joking around. People are always like Nostr sucks because X, Y, or Z. The lack of engagement, and engagement fostering tools on the clients is a main pain point I would say in my honest opinion. Ignoring Media tabs, search, follow nukes, zaps, etc. I can tolerate the poor ui/UX of clients as long as they aren’t buggy and don’t crash. But I would say the lack of effective discovery tools on clients is Nostr’s weak point.
