The more cautious ones are taking a bet on Bitcoin staying. I think it’s how many Bitcoin influencers feel now though. While, I understand Bitcoin transparency was as a means to verify supply, there have been new methods to cryptographically verify supply while keeping transactions private. And even Satoshi discussed privacy implementations but weren’t added by default yet.

Also the centralized exchanges would freeze your coins. The meshing ecosystem as a whole is still early of course but it's the only way we can counteract the panopticon. If everyone self hosts, and run their own infrastructure. I know that's unrealistic but we should try anyways.

I feel like it’s moved away from its cypher punk/crypto-anarchist values, and has become more institutionalized, and speculative rather than focusing on dismantling the state. That’s why it’s extremely difficult to sing praises when the main icons are no longer the devs, and contributors that made it great but are Wall Street/hedge fund, etc. dudes. I say this as a stock market investor as well. I focus on Bitcoin to give individuals financial freedom from the state’s tyranny. But that’s also why I like Monero too because I feel those values are alive there as well.

Glad to hear you've retained that capability, young Gen Z, and Gen Alpha, and Beta won't have any luck unless they have really good parents. I intend on limiting my future children's (If I'm fortunate enough to have any) tech time. But I'd also make sure they're tech literate once they're old enough to handle it. I'm the last generation to see reality, and first generation to see manipulation, and even I struggle with a grasp at times. People under 30 seem to have a lot of mental struggles, I think.

I don't really see too much pro-Russia stuff tbh. As far as I'm aware usually it's the Anti-America/Pro-Russia/China/Iran types that tend to post anything slightly in favor of Russia. But as far as I know Nostr is pretty European heavy tbh.
