Science doesn’t even know how a bunch of atoms arranged together to form a living monocelular organism, let alone a complex system such as the human brain.
For all we know it’s all emergent behavior but we don’t know what we don’t know, and we shouldn’t naively ignore this fact when coming up with hypothesis.
I think life simply isn’t a solved problem, quantum entanglement still sounds like black magic to me and I wouldn’t put behind humanity figuring out some sort of “soul sensing machine” (very loose use of the therm soul here as a placeholder for an unknown unknown) in the future just like we can view radio waves in a spectrometer.

Sure you can have client side censorship on nostr but contrary to, say WhatsApp and Telegram where using certain alternative clients risks getting your account banned, there’s no one in charge of your nsec other than yourself.
Censorship resistance is more of a spectrum, and I wouldn’t say trying to make things censorship resistant is a death sentence to consistency, take torrent for instance, it’s p2p, more resilient than nostr and yet delivers fully consistent content.

This goes against every intuition we have but is a reality in other places as well, like casinos and stuff.
Centralized platforms have the means to shuffle money around very easily, while we’re here asking that every user pays a fee every month and then wonder why the thing isn’t growing.
I used to think metered usage micropayments was the obvious way to go, since you could distribute content into some sort of filecoin/storj clone and everyone would just pay their fair share but now I’m leaning towards “turn free riders into CDN”.
My iPhone has more processing power and bandwidth available than most servers had a few decades ago, IPv6 and NAT hole punching have been enabling p2p applications for a while now, why not?
Then there would be less pressure on free relays by freeloaders and premium relays could justify subsiding free relays, while focusing on delivering value for the whales.

Yeah, regardless of what people say, I don’t think JSON is used because it’s human readable, it’s the cross platform compatibility.
But now that even a steaming pile of JavaScript is capable of decoding a binary protocol, I’m guessing JSON stays dominant out of inertia.
