Somewhere we decided that agreeing with someone and liking them were the same thing. They're not. Most people just turn it into a loyalty test. You pick a side, and then you need everyone around you to pick it too, and the ones who don't get quietly moved into the enemy column. Used to be you could go at it hard with a man and still buy him a beer after. The fight was about the idea, not about whether he had a right to breathe your air. 🍻

The IDF runs an AI that picks bombing targets. Houses, structures, whatever the model flags. They call it Habsora. THE GOSPEL. Mossad agents told +972 Magazine what that home strike policy actually produces. Most of the dead end up being women and children. Israel built a machine to mark homes for destruction and named it “good news”. If that doesn’t sit wrong with you, ask why it sits fine with everyone waving the Israel flag right now.

Slow down. A platform is just reach. A way for your voice to land where it otherwise wouldn’t, in front of people who have never once heard the thing you understand. Not everyone has one. The men who do are holding something the rest of us aren’t, and what they build with it matters more than which building they stand in to do it. The purists keep stepping over something obvious. The people who still need orange pilling are not here. You don’t reach the lost by preaching louder to the saved. If you can teach this clearly and you actually care whether a stranger gets free, you go where the strangers are. But caution ahead! These guys know the platform is a drug. Engineered and toxic on purpose. It pays in outrage and rewires how you think while you sit there certain you’re the one using it. Plenty of good men walked in to teach and walked out captured, indistinguishable from the thing they went to fight. So the rule holds. Go if you’re strong enough to see the hook while you hold the line. Take the reach, refuse the high. Stand in that room without becoming it. Just come home clean. nostr:nevent1qqsxrmdf4hqe4lrx66w3tjfpmryx4qz2c20gtlsw2jpah2ev80yz63szyqlhwrt96wnkf2w9edgr4cfruchvwkv26q6asdhz4qg08pm6w3djgc7vjjs

The Night They Emptied the Files ———————————————————— Surveillance is a filing system. It was aimed at the American people for decades, and the proof sat in a small office in Media, Pennsylvania, behind one cheap lock. On the night of March 8, 1971, the whole country was watching Ali fight Frazier. Eight citizens used the fight as cover and burglarized an FBI field office. A physics professor. A daycare director. A cab driver. Graduate students. They held no clearances and answered to no agency. They called themselves the Citizens’ Commission to Investigate the FBI, and they carried every file in the office out the door in suitcases. The files documented years of political surveillance against Americans. One memo recommended deepening the paranoia itself, to enhance the impression that an agent waited behind every mailbox. Another carried a single unexplained word in its routing caption, COINTELPRO. A reporter named Carl Stern spent two years suing the government to learn what that word meant, and the answer dismantled the Bureau’s mythology. Anonymous letters engineered to break marriages. A campaign to push Martin Luther King toward suicide. Citizens who described this treatment had been dismissed for years with the standard engineered phrase. The files, and everything they pried loose, proved every paranoid right. The burglars mailed the documents to newspapers. The Washington Post printed them over the Attorney General’s objection. The leak set in motion the chain that produced the Church Committee, and the Church Committee produced the first legal restraints ever placed on domestic spying. Hoover assigned two hundred agents to find the crew. The Bureau investigated for five years and closed the case empty. The operation still teaches. They understood the files were the weapon. The Bureau’s power lived in its information asymmetry. It watched everyone and answered to no one, and the watching only worked while it stayed deniable. The crew attacked the asymmetry directly. They declassified on their own schedule. The drawer ran on the government’s clock until eight people with a crowbar reset it. They understood the value of mismatched hands. The daycare director cased the office, posing as a student asking about careers in the Bureau. The cab driver studied locksmithing by correspondence course, and when the night produced a deadbolt his picks couldn’t beat, he pried a side door with a crowbar and the operation continued. Their worldviews diverged on nearly everything except the architecture of the problem. The disagreement cost them nothing. The alliance required two shared convictions and no more. They understood discipline as a moral act. Forty three years of silence. They raised children, taught classes, drove cabs, and held the secret through every administration that would have buried them. Five broke silence in 2014, gray haired and unrepentant, after the statute of limitations had long expired. The rest stay anonymous to this day. Low time preference is a character trait before it is a financial strategy. They held. We inherit their problem at scale. The field office is now a data center. The file cabinet is now a dragnet that reads itself. The lock got stronger and the burglary got harder, and so the response moved from crowbars to mathematics. We encrypt because the files about us should require our consent. We publish on protocols with no office to raid and no editor to threaten. We save in a money that audits its watchers, settling in public every ten minutes on a ledger no bureau amends. They needed one unlocked door. We need none, because our architecture never granted the Bureau a room. Eight people with day jobs beat the most feared agency on earth, and the margin of victory was character. They prepared longer than they acted. They trusted seven others and nobody else. When the picks failed they used the crowbar, and when the job was done they went home and held their silence for half a lifetime. The win was decided years before the door opened, in the kind of people they had already become. Become that kind of people. Run the node before anyone needs it. Stack while it’s boring. Sign your work and raise your kids and hold your post when nobody is watching, because nobody watching is when everything is decided. The professor died before the book came out. He did it anyway. Three of the eight are still ghosts, fifty years gone, files public, credit unclaimed. Do the work and Hold.

The squeeze is coming from every direction simultaneously. Financial. Cultural. The continued collapse of institutions. A culture that spent a decade trying to confuse men about who they are and what they’re for. The people who didn’t buy it and are still trying to build real households and raise kids who can stand on their own are quietly finding each other here. Evil rarely shows up as a villain. It shows up as a system that profits while you and your neighbor are too busy at each other’s throats to look up. You’re allowed to refuse. You just decide the small stuff stays small and start treating the man across the fence like he might be on your side. Because he probably is. The whole apparatus runs on the assumption that you won’t think. That you’ll react and move on. The moment you actually stop and think for yourself, you become the one variable they can’t price in. They don’t fear your anger because they can sell you more of it. They fear that you might start thinking. Because at the end of the day they care what you think, and a man who thinks for himself is the most dangerous thing they’ll ever meet. Gm Nostr

I never removed anyone from my life. They just kept making moves that told me exactly who they were, and at some point you stop being surprised and start being grateful for the clarity. Most people will show you everything you need to know. You just have to stop making excuses for what you’re seeing.

In the 90s the US government called encryption a weapon. Same export list as missiles. They went after the man who wrote PGP and built a case to put him in prison. His side didn’t fight it. They printed the source code as a book and walked it through every airport on earth, because you can’t ban a book. They beat the most powerful government on the planet with a printing press. That exact move is happening again right now. It’s the reason nobody can deplatform you here. Most people have no idea they’re standing inside it. This is the fight you’re already in. Read it

Interesting quote from A Bug's Life... You let one ant stand up to us, and they all might stand up! Those puny little ants outnumber us a hundred to one. And if we ever let them figure that out... THERE GOES OUR WAY OF LIFE! It's not about food. It's about keeping those ants in line.

You’re proving my point. You own your keys. Sell them, burn them, leak them. Total control. That’s ownership. Nobody owns a country like that. The President can’t sell Ohio. Congress can’t burn the Bill of Rights and keep the change. They administer it. They don’t own it. That’s why “take it back” makes sense. You’re not claiming title, you’re firing the manager who started acting like he holds the keys. A country isn’t property, it’s a trust. You don’t own it, you steward it, you hand it down. The whole fight is people confusing the two.

Every covenant you actually live by was nonconsensual at the start. Your name. Your language. Your citizenship. Consent came later, if at all. That’s how inheritance works. Who determines the proposition? It’s written down. That’s the whole point of 1776. They didn’t leave it to interpretation. They published it. Are you arguing the proposition is wrong, or just that no one is bound by it? Those are different problems and they go different directions.

Maybe the most encouraging thing about the BigBrotr scan isn't the 38 people who leaked their nsec. It's the millions of events where nobody did. For years we've been told people can't handle responsibility. They need custodians. They need platforms. They need gatekeepers. They need someone else holding the keys. Then you scan 41 million Nostr events and discover most people are doing just fine. Funny how often the experts underestimate what free people are capable of when you actually give them ownership. https://nostrcompass.org/en/newsletters/2026-03-25-newsletter/?utm_source=chatgpt.com

We talk about self sovereignty like we believe it but most of us don’t actually think it’ll work without a patron. And major funders know that. They’re not writing checks out of generosity they’re buying a stake in the outcome. I hear you. I’ve seen it. I know it all exists. When someone gets toxic you don't need permission to escape. You just go. You take your keys and you find people who treat you like a human. John wants control over his direction. Fair. But he doesn't get to claim moral superiority while demanding people abandon a protocol that lets anyone build without asking. That's the whole point. Nostr isn't holy, it’s open. And open means the door swings both ways. The moment Nostr becomes what he's accusing it of is the moment people fork it and leave. That's the beauty. The exit option keeps everyone honest. Centralization can't stick here because the code doesn't allow it. People will find other clients that keep freedom free. That's how decentralization works. So yeah. Call out the assholes. Call out the elitism. Call out the influencers playing king. But don't confuse the people with the protocol. The protocol doesn't care who feels blessed. It just works. And people like you who've been kicked around and still choose freedom. You're exactly who this was built for.

The man who controls his appetites controls everything downstream of that. What you eat. What you drink. What you watch. What you chase. What you tolerate in your own head at 11pm. Nobody builds anything real on a foundation of give-me-what-I-want-right-now. The appetite doesn’t care about your goals. It just wants fed. And it will negotiate with you every single morning until you stop negotiating back. That’s the whole fight, not the big dramatic battles but the small daily ones nobody sees. Win those and everything else gets easier. Lose them and nothing else matters. Also, GM Nostr

Andrew Jackson paid off the entire US national debt in 1835. Only time it’s ever happened. Congress rechartered the central bank early to trap him. He vetoed it. Someone tried to shoot him with two pistols and both misfired. He beat the guy with a cane. Biddle, the bank president, crashed the economy on purpose to punish him. It didn’t work. Jackson’s dying words: “I killed the bank.” Block 879,000-something just got mined. No permission asked.

GM Nostr!! Reminder that a universal healthcare system would take at least 20% of your paycheck in new taxes and that’s the optimistic estimate. The US already spends 18% of GDP on healthcare. Handing that bill to the federal government doesn’t make it disappear, it just removes your ability to opt out. Giving the same government that built this mess a monopoly on it fixes nothing.
