“I’m not talking because every time I speak, blood comes out of my mouth and stains my clothes, and I don’t want my mom to have to clean them.”
On January 29, 2024, the car Hind was in was riddled with 335 (THREE HUNDRED THIRTY-FIVE) BULLET HOLES!
Trapped in the vehicle for several hours, the little girl stayed on the phone with a Palestinian Red Crescent operator and begged for someone to come rescue her:
“I’m very scared. Please come get me. Are you going to come get me?”
There are seven people in the car: two adults and five children—her uncle, her aunt, their four children, and Hind. Among them are Layan Hamada, 15, Mohammed Hamada, 11, and Sarah Hamada, 4.
Layan, 15, is still alive at first. On the phone with emergency responders, she explains that a tank is right next to their car. Suddenly, a barrage erupts: 64 shots are heard in just 6 seconds, then Layan stops responding.
Hind was then the sole survivor in the vehicle.
An ambulance with two paramedics was dispatched to rescue her. But it was struck by an Israeli shell: the ambulance was destroyed, and the two paramedics were killed.
Twelve days later, the bodies of Hind, her six family members, and the two paramedics were recovered.
👉 The Israeli military, which had initially denied that its forces were in the area, now acknowledges that its soldiers fired on the car and that an Israeli shell also struck the ambulance that had come to rescue Hind.
